Protection Collective is working with Head & Hands
to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
to community and healthcare workers.

We’re a wide network of Makers and Innovators from across Greater Montreal

Protection Collective is a mutual aid network of makers in the Greater Montreal area who spontaneously began to manufacture Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to offset the shortages and distribution of PPE to hospitals and healthcare facilities on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’re making Open Source Face Shields to fight Covid-19

On March 25th 2020, makers, hackers, students, healthcare workers and small business owners all around Montreal began manufacturing open-source 3D-printed face shields. Thanks to social networking, these individuals were able to gain visibility, become aware of each other, and begin co-organizing. Their efforts were collectivized by Protection Collective.

We have a network of 50+ 3D printers, industrial laser cutters, and the facilities to bring it all together

To build face shields means to source material (3D-print parts and laser-cut clear plastics), assemble the parts, decontaminate everything, and then distribute the bagged items to hospitals. Manufacturing face shields on short notice is not an easy endeavor, let alone under strict social distancing measures.
